How to use the tool panel

In Find by pattern, type the letters you know in order. A question mark stands in for a missing letter, so a three-letter pattern like c?t only returns real words that length. Set Word length to match the number of slots you are filling. Open More filters to use Must include and Must exclude for letters you know are in or out of the word — handy for crosswords, letter-pattern puzzles, and similar games.

In Anagram solver, enter the full set of letters you want to rearrange and pick the same word length. The tool lists every dictionary word that uses exactly those letters, such as turning cat into act and cat.

This page is separate from the printable word-search puzzles elsewhere on the site. Those downloads are grid puzzles; this tool is a letter helper for games, homework, and crosswords.
