A rental inspection checklist gives landlords and tenants the same written record of how each room looked on move-in day, before a dispute over carpet stains or wall scuffs. This layout is the default two-bedroom side-by-side form: separate blocks for each room, move-in and move-out columns together, and ruled notes lines for damage descriptions.

Walk bedrooms, living room, kitchen, and bath in the same order every time so photos line up with row labels. Test stove burners, run water in each sink, and open blinds to check for cracked slats before boxes cover the floor. Photograph meter readings with the date visible. Both parties sign the same copy; note pre-existing damage rather than leaving a cell blank because a blank cell reads as no damage later.
