GIF to JPG Converter, Free and In Your Browser
Animated GIFs are awkward in documents and email. This tool converts the first frame to a still JPG.
Only frame one is exported. Choose a background color below if the GIF used transparency.
Format notes
When to use this output
GIF to JPG helps when an animated meme or reaction GIF must become a still slide, PDF illustration, or email image. Only the first frame is exported.
Transparency
GIF may use single-color transparency. JPG cannot, so transparent pixels pick up the background color you set below.
Quality
GIF palettes are limited to 256 colors. JPG re-encodes those pixels but cannot add colors the GIF never had; banding from the source may remain. Use quality around 0.85.
File size
A single JPG frame is usually smaller than a multi-frame GIF. You lose animation entirely, which is the point for still use.
FAQ
Where did the animation go?
This converter intentionally exports frame one only. Use a video tool if you need motion.
Why does my GIF look banded before convert?
GIF color limits cause banding. JPG on one frame cannot fix palette limits from the source.
Can I pick another frame?
Not on this page. Export the frame you need from a video editor first.
