HEIC to JPG Converter, Free and In Your Browser

Every iPhone saves photos as HEIC by default. Windows PCs, many websites, and older apps still expect JPG, so sharing from your camera roll often starts with a format mismatch.

Use the controls below to drop in a HEIC file and download a JPG at the same pixel dimensions. Need a different size afterward? Open the image resizer.

Format notes

When to use this output

Reach for JPG when an iPhone HEIC photo must open on Windows, attach to email, or upload to a form that only lists JPEG. JPG is the interchange format clinics, schools, and HR portals still expect.

Transparency

HEIC from the camera roll is usually opaque. JPG never stores an alpha channel, so this path is not for cut-out graphics. If you need a lossless file, use HEIC to PNG instead.

Quality

Decoding HEIC and re-encoding as JPG applies lossy compression. Use the Quality slider in the controls below; 0.85 is a sensible default for sharing. Pixel dimensions stay the same as the source.

File size

HEIC is often about 40 to 50 percent smaller than JPG at similar quality, so the JPG you download here is usually larger than the HEIC original. You trade bytes for compatibility with email, Windows apps, and upload forms.

FAQ

Why will my PC not open HEIC?

Windows needs Microsoft's HEIF Image Extensions and HEVC Video Extensions from the Microsoft Store before Photos and some apps can open HEIC. Converting to JPG avoids that setup.

Is the HEIC file uploaded?

No. Decode and encode run locally in your browser; the file never leaves your device.

Does conversion strip location metadata?

Yes. The image is redrawn to a new JPG, so GPS and camera EXIF from the HEIC are not copied through.
