PNG to JPG Converter, Free and In Your Browser

PNG is ideal for graphics with transparency, but JPG is smaller and universally accepted for email and uploads.

Pick a background color in the controls below before you download. JPG cannot store transparency, so cut-out areas flatten to that fill.

Format notes

When to use this output

Convert PNG to JPG when a graphic must shrink for email, an LMS upload, or a legacy CMS that rejects PNG. JPG is still the default photo format on many corporate networks.

Transparency

JPG cannot store transparency. Transparent pixels are flattened using the background color you pick in the controls below (white is the usual choice for logos on slides).

Quality

Each save as JPG is lossy. Start near 0.85 on the Quality slider; raise it for text-heavy screenshots, lower it for casual sharing if size matters more.

File size

JPG is often five to ten times smaller than PNG for full-color photos. Flat UI screenshots with hard edges may not shrink as much and can show ringing if quality is set too low.

FAQ

My logo has a transparent background. What happens?

Transparent areas become solid using your chosen background color. For a cut-out, stay on PNG or convert to WebP instead.

Will text stay sharp?

High contrast edges can halo at low quality. Bump quality toward 0.9 for crisp type in screenshots.

Are dimensions changed?

No. Width and height in pixels match the uploaded PNG.
