AVIF to JPG Converter, Free and In Your Browser

AVIF is efficient on the web, but plenty of software still expects JPG for email, print, or legacy upload forms.

Convert below with the quality slider if you need a universally accepted JPEG.

Format notes

When to use this output

AVIF to JPG bridges newer photo sites that serve AVIF to browsers that save or share JPEG. Also handy when desktop software in a creative suite lacks AVIF import.

Transparency

AVIF can include alpha, but JPG cannot. Transparent AVIF regions flatten to your chosen background color in the controls below.

Quality

AVIF is efficient at low bitrates. Converting to JPG adds another lossy generation; keep quality high if you see banding in the preview.

File size

JPG output may be larger than the AVIF source at similar visual quality because JPG is less efficient. You gain compatibility, not minimum bytes.

FAQ

Why do I have AVIF files at all?

Some CDNs deliver AVIF to supported browsers. Saving or exporting can leave you with AVIF on disk.

Same as HEIC?

No. AVIF is a different codec common on the web; HEIC is Apple's photo default. Both have dedicated pages here.

Color profile handling?

The browser decodes to canvas pixels. Embedded ICC color profiles may not round-trip into the output JPG.
